Purchase study material to review prior to the exam. Each person taking the exam must purchase their own manual.
Testing includes: Three testing sections: Manual/General, Landscape Design and Plant Identification.
This certification is individual based - please use your personal information to register.Testing is held twice a year at a date/time determined by the NCNLP Committee.

TESTING DATE INFORMATION
Testing held at Metropolitan Community College - Fort Omaha Campus - Room 105 in the Horticulture Building (29)
Testing will begin at 10:00 a.m. You may leave after you finish the design section of the exam.
Agenda for the exam
9:00 – Committee available for questions
10:00 – Manual section
11:00 – Plant ID section
12:00 to 1:00 – Lunch
1:00 – Design section
If you are retaking specific sections of the exam, you only need to be present when those section(s) are scheduled to be given.
For the design portion, you will need to bring drafting tools - pencil, scale ruler, circle template and any other tools you like for hand drafting.

You will be on your own for lunch. There are eating establishments close by or you are welcome to bring your own. Specific details will be emailed the week of the test.
Location and Parking Details
Parking is available next to the Horticulture Building (outside the west doors). A campus map will be emailed the week of the test.Cancellation Policy: If you cancel within ten days prior to the testing date, you will be granted a full refund. Less than ten days prior, a refund of half the amount paid will be refunded. Refunds will not be granted for anyone who does not present the day of the testing. Fees may be transferred to the next testing date but not to another individual.
NCNLP Manual Update: The NCNLP Committee has been revising the NCNLP manual and have complete the revision of the Plant ID list that will be used for testing. If you purchased your manual prior to December 2022, you can disregard chapters 4, 5, and 14 as the information included in those chapters will not be included in future exams. Contact the NNLA office for an updated Plant ID list that will be used for the exam.
